Review of Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989) by Ben G — 30 Jul 2008
I found this movie to be very thoughtful, interesting conflicts and self-conflicts that resolve and don't resolve at the same time. It's been to me very thought provoking on subjects of god, love, sins and punishments.
I take it that the main message of the film is that justice doesn't always prevails as has happened with the murder in the film, and that love doesn't either, To quote woody to his little nephew: ".
..great depth and smoldering sensuality doesn't always win", sometimes people can be really blind to the truth (in oh so many ways).
