Review of Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989) by Curtis M — 17 Jan 2009
I was surprised at how dark this film was. Most of the humor comes from Woody Allenâ??s story line in the film, but the jokes are usually quite jaded. Crimes and Misdemeanors focuses on moral choices, their consequences and the human conscience more than anything.
The two stories seem a bit unbalanced, especially considering their topic matter, but Allen manages to keep the film afloat, and gets in a few laughs while he's at it.
