Review of Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989) by Joseph H — 25 Jan 2009
A thought provoking tragi-comedy, about the consequences of a universe in which god is absent. Parallel stories deal with the decisions we all make on scales both small and great. In a harsh world, empty of values, we are all responsible for our own moral choices, living with those choices, and ultimately finding our own happiness.
To borrow Martin Landau's quote, "If you want a happy ending, you should go see a Hollywood movie." This is much better than a Hollywood movie.
