Review of Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989) by Lucas Y — 20 Feb 2009

Probably Allen's best film of the 80's. So many avoided facts about life are faced in this film, but comically so, it works. Allen is a master of making awkwardness and unsettling feelings come to life comically. I don't want to spoil Crimes & Misdemeanors too much. I'll just say one of the last scenes with Allen and Landau sitting on the piano bench together discussing a murder story is one of my favorites in any Allen film.
