Review of Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989) by Jimmy M — 13 Nov 2009
A comedy and drama play out side by side. In the drama, Landau plays a successful eye doctor whose life goes haywire when his mistress(Huston) trys to blackmail him and in the comedy, Woody Allen plays a married, small time, documentary film maker who falls in love with the associate producer(Farrow) of a bio Allen's doing(soley for the money) about a total douche(Allen's character's brother in-law), played with great zeal by Alda.
A well crafted pseudo-morality tale with great writing and acting(especially from Landau, Allen and Farrow).
