Review of Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989) by Augustine H — 17 Oct 2011
The parallel plot is so involving yet pretty melancholic indeed. Martin Landau's line is more serious as it touches choices in life and religion. Woody's line is more humorous but I just find him so pitiful at the end.
He should have deserved more for the philosophy he held. Is losing everything fair to him, while a murderer got scot-free? Such morality issue is perfectly resembled in Woody's later work "Match Point", but this piece is far more weighty.
