Review of Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989) by Adam K — 09 Jun 2009
Despite waxing philosophical here, Woody Allen has delivered an extremely entertaining film. Martin Landau is terrific, but he's outshined by Allen's portrayal of the loveable loser documentarian.
Why this film didn't receive more critical acclaim escapes me. Perhaps the only flaw, as I see it, is the cut to the end as the two stories (somewhat awkwardly) meet. Those pains are alleviated, however, by some brilliant editing in the end.
Simply a must see.
