Review of Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989) by Victor L — 05 Aug 2009
Crimes and Misdemeanors is an outstanding movie. One of Allen's best picture and maybe the profoundest he's ever written and directed. Huston and Landau's performances are so fine that the rest of the members of the cast seem supporting.
The topics Allen managed are perfectly depicted: obssession, morality, religion, ethics, guilt and the lack of justice. Anjelica Huston must have had nominated for this role and 1989's Best Supporting Actor Oscar definitely belonged to Martin Landau.
Life's unfair too.
