Review of Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989) by Timothy M — 16 Oct 2010
Excellent. Great balance of drama and comedy - Allen's segment got more than a few genuine laughs from me. Landau hits the other section out of the park, but I think my favourite performance is Alan Alda's.
I think the real appeal of the film is how Allen tackles cliches by giving them a realistic context. I haven't seen that done in this way very often, so it really appealed to me.
