Review of Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989) by Madeline M — 27 May 2009
Crimes and Misdemeanors is, maybe, the classic Woody Allen movie that feels least like a Woody Allen movie. Except, some of it is COMPLETELY Allen's style, and even the parts that seem 180 degrees away from his film are still, somehow, very much HIM.
It's very difficult to describe, but I love the moral quandaries and the ambiguity of the film. It's really interesting.
