Review of Cries and Whispers (1972) by Eddie S — 03 Aug 2007
Suicide, hatred, self-mutilation, incestuous rivalry and morbid despair = a masterpiece.
Watching Bergman always reminds you what actual film-making is really about. From shot 1 you are aware that you are in the hands of a master director and not some soul-less hack.
