Review of Cries and Whispers (1972) by Nick B — 09 Jan 2008
This film provided me with one of the most uncomfortable viewing experiences ever. This look at love, and what the absence of it can do to a human, is very troubling. Bergman makes you deal with every single uncomfortable emotion with painfully long takes with close-ups on all sorts of expression of pain: physically and emotionally.
This film will rip your heart out. Amazing acting.
