Review of Cries and Whispers (1972) by Jason K — 12 Jan 2008
I recently read Bergman's Playboy interview in which he more or less said he's less concerned with audiences understanding his films on an intellectual level than on an emotional level. It changed the way I felt about Bergman and this film indeed put me in the most unique of moods.
Like Rohmer's My Night at Maud's from earlier this week, I feel this film will benefit greatly upon my next viewing.
