Review of Cries and Whispers (1972) by Evan M — 30 Jul 2008
A tough film to watch, there is just so much despair and horror running rampant throughout this film that one almost loses one's faith in humanity. But Bergman leaves us with one of the great endings in cinema, a pastorally beautiful moment of hope.
It's his greatest achievment. No small compliment.
