Review of Cries and Whispers (1972) by Mark S — 26 Jun 2008
The cinematography is beautiful, the color contrasting within scenes was marvelous. There were a close-ups that seemed useless but as the movie goes on, they work perfectly with intense shots. The plot was slightly different but it kept you watching.
The acting was just as great. In my opinion, Andersson, who plays Agnes was great. The sisters, Ullmann and Thulin, were just as good. You have to give acting credit to Sylwan as well for playing Anna.
Overall a solid 4.5/5.
