Review of Creepshow (1982) by Jim M — 27 Jan 2008
Great horror anthology by horror legends George A. Romero, Stephen King and Tom Savini. Creepshow is a collection of 5 shorts inspired by the horror comic of the 1950, which means there's a hafty dose of goofyiness involved, fortunatly its usually entertaining.
In "Father's Day" a murdered man rises from his grave, in "The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill" Stephen King plays a hick who meets a gruesome demise when an asteroid lands in his yard (Meteor Shit!), "Something to Tide You Over" has Leslie Nielsen bury Ted Danson up to his neck in sand, "The Crate" has a collage professor (the great character actor Hal Holbrook) plot to feed his abusive wife (Adrienne Barbeau) to a monster under the stairs and in "Theyre Creeping Up on You" an immoral businessman's apartment is invaded by millions of cockroaches.
Grab some beers, grab some friends and enjoy.
