Review of Creepshow (1982) by Patrick S — 11 Feb 2008
I bought this one a while back and finally whipped it out and watched it. I kind of wish I didn't. I could see where Romero and King were going with this, but there's a point where campiness and cheesiness just makes a movie bad and no longer fun. Romero played with the comic book shit way too often, making scenes that were trying to be scary, not scary at all. There was some legit stuff in the flick, like some of the build up and tenseness during The Crate segment (even though the creature looked like shit) and I really enjoyed Leslie Nielsen during his segment, but segments like the one where King stars (which is some of the absolute worst cinema I have ever seen) ruin anything good about the film.
Not the worst movie I've ever seen as a whole, but one I will opt out of ever watching again.
