Review of Creepshow (1982) by Ralph G — 29 Oct 2008
Great anthology from directo George Romero. Tons of great actors and great gore for the time. Master FX artist Tom Savini worked on this and also has a cameo as one of the garbage men in the container story. I watched this film many times growing up and find it still holds its charm today. Each story has its own "Tales From the Crypt" feel as its inspired by classic EC comics.
Each tale begins and ends in a comic panelled page that blends to and from the "live" scene. Everybody has their own favorite story, mine being "The Crate" which stars two of my fav genre actors, Adrienne Barbeau and Hal Holbrook.
None of the shorts are really scary, infact most of them have a little bit of comic relief bundled into the package. There's some classic stuff here and I highly recommend it to anyone who is a fan of this genre.
