Review of Creepshow (1982) by Scott F — 12 Mar 2009
Now I have to admit, I have given this a high rating for my old nostalgia. I watched this film when I was 13, and was reading comic books at the time, and if you read horror comics, you will love this.
Featuring some of the biggest names in acting at the time, you get five wonderful stories to watch. From the sublime 'Fathers Day', to the gory and horrific 'The Crate', there is a horror story in their that would have probably have scared you as a child (and Stephen Kings performance in 'The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verril' is absolutely magical).
I have to admit, when they made this film, it was because Stephen King wanted Romero to direct The Shining, until film bosses sold the rights for Kubrick to make it. Wonder what it would have been like.
