To be perfectly honest I expected better from George A. Romero and Stephen King.

Plot(s): An anthology of five horror stories.

The first, "Father's Day" deals with a murdered old father returning from the grave to terrorize his children and grandchildren. Ed Harris stars.

The second, "The Lonesome Death of Jody Hill" is about a crazy farmer who finds a strange meteor that contains a fast growing alien plant. Stephen King himself stars and is hilarious.

The third, "Something to Tide You Over deals with a psychopath who kills two lovers by burying them to their heads on a beach as the tide comes in, only for the two lovers to return from the grave to exact their revenge. Leslie Nielsen and Ted Danson star.

The fourth and undoubtedly the best, "The Crate", is about a college professor who comes into possession of a crate dated 1834 from an arctic expedition which contains a bloodthirsty ape-like monster. Stars Hal Holbrook.

The final, "They're Creeping Up on You", tells of an evil rich man with mysophobia, who's penthouse becomes overrun with aggressive cockroaches.

I loved "The Lonesome Death of Jody Hill", "The Crate", and "They're Creeping Up on You" but I couldn't really get into the other two. I felt like the characters and the stories were too underdeveloped. If the two had been longer I would have liked them. I found "The Crate" to be the best and the scariest that perfectly balances jump scenes and gore. After the whole thing was over, I was left wanting more. I really don't think this should have been a movie but rather a tv series. Total score: 6.2/10.
