Review of Creep (2014) by Lovro H — 22 Jun 2015
A suprisingly effective and a truly terrifying take on found-footage horror movies. I only watched this movie because I had found nothing better to watch, so decided to give it a go, and found myself really scared multiple times throughout the movie! The main protagonist, Aaron, isn't that much of an interesting person, but the main antagonist, Josef, is one hell of a guy! He gives me the creeps (no pun intended) everytime he's on screen.
His character is just downright weird and bizarre! The actor also gives his best to portray him. Unlike many other found footage movies, this one has NO supernatural events in it! And I, honestly, find this kind of a story more scary than a vampire/werewolf/alien story.
This movie has some flaws, though. The ending is a bit clicheish, but it's still scary and unnerving. There are a few jump scares, but not a lot of them, and most of them are played for laughs. All in all, a very creative horror movie with an interesting plot and weird characters makes for a horrifying 75 minutes! Would recommend!
