Creep is a unique and original take in the long running found footage genre and it is also one of the smartest, cleverest and most effective Horror movies to date. Creep is the story of a videographer name Aaron who responds for a job on Craigslist with a man name Josef, where his duty is to just bring a camera and spend a day with Josef to record moments with him for Josef's unborn son.

But soon Aaron learns that Josef is not really who he thinks he is and is something horrifying and creepy. I was so surprised when I watched this movie and I loved it. I read an article about this film which is the Fourteen surprisingly good Horror movies to watch in Netflix, so I thought I'd give it a spin and to my surprise it is a well shot Horror movie that has all the essence of a great and frightening scary movie and Creep has shown its proof on that.

Creep in my honest opinion is also an example of how a simple concept of a Horror film works with a small budget and with two actors only and it is also an example of a Horror movie where you don't need to use too much jump scares, there were a few jump scares in the film but they are very effective for the film.

What makes Creep a fascinating Horror movie is that this film use the right amount of techniques that is so simple, yet chilling and extremely effective and well achieved and Creep is very sensitive and clever at the same time, this film relies heavily on using intelligence and wit to make a good scary movie work and it really did a bright and spot on job no wonder critics gave this movie a lot of really good reviews since this is a spot on Horror movie for all the right reasons.

I love also the major settings of this film and throughout the movie you get to see loads of beautiful outdoors shot and the settings are incredible even though the whole movie is shot on a low budget(Josef's beautiful vacation house or the gorgeous wilderness and the amazing park in the film's climax where you get a shot of the beautiful trees far from the park).

There's also a huge amount of scenes that are packed with some of the best scares and also has some of the creepiest shots in film history(the scene where Josef appears outside of Aaron's car, the unnerving bathtub scene, the creepy Peachfuzz mask scene, scenes where Josef keeps scaring Aaron, the creepy scene where Josef refuses to let Aaron leave and he starts acting creepily while wearing the Peachfuzz mask, the super creepy and unsettling shot of Josef's shadow at the stairs which is the cover of the film as you can see, the super creepy scene where we get a shot of Josef standing at the doorstep of Aaron and we get unsettled that he knows where Aaron lives and the shocking finale at the park where Josef kills Aaron with an Axe).

The second highlight of this film is the execution of this film. I love how the movie moves in a smooth pace while combining something that makes you and Aaron feel that something is not right because throughout the film we the audience starts to get unsettled along with Aaron by Josef's behavior and how he acts and the way Mark Duplass portrays the character is so unnerving and we all get to find out throughout the film that something is wrong and not right at all until the very end of the movie.

But the best thing about Creep is that the movie is not really a Horror movie. Creep is more than just your everyday Horror movie and is more of a Psychological study in the other part. Because the film explores the mind of Mark Duplass' character and it explores the darkest and deepest part of a psychotic mad man.

You can truly see that the character of Josef has something unsettling, uncomfortable and unnerving as well. It makes us audience feel scared and frightened for the character of Aaron and what he must do.

Because throughout the film we get to see that Josef is not really who he thinks he is and he may look like your ordinary individual but but we soon get to see his true ego in the next half of the movie as the character of Josef behaves in a bizarre and uncomfortable way and it is done in such an eccentric and unnerving way.

Now the acting is also a spot on, because you only have two actors who are also the writers of the film. The performances of Mark Duplass and Patrick Brice(who directed the movie as well) is really neat and amazing.

They both did a very good job with their performances as Josef and Aaron respectively. But in my honest opinion, Mark Duplass delivers a killer performance which is something that'v you've never seen before in a very long time and they both did a good job with their work as screenwriters and of course Patrick Brice did a good job as well as a director for this film, not only as an actor but also a director as well.

Overall Creep is entertaining yet it is a movie that is very unsettling, creepy, unnerving, uncomfortable and scary at the same time and it is the movie that might give you nightmares in your sleep. This movie gets a 10/10.
