It follows a similar formula and has a similar feel to that of the original Rocky, so, while it's not groundbreaking, it has grit, and the role shifting and a few added plot devices make it feel fresh.

This is also the one role Stallone has been able to really embody during his career, and he's still able to pull it off, while also adding some new depth to the character.
