"Creed" is a competently made, well acted, and somewhat by the numbers boxing movie. It does reinvent the formula in a few unique and enjoyable ways but it ultimately does follow a pretty routine story.

The themes about being more than a name are engaging and make this different from the rest of the bunch. Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone deliver great performances and are a duo you can easily root for.

It's a good movie with good messages and is ultimately pretty entertaining, even if it doesn't do too much that is particularly new.
