'Creed' is a movie that benefits from the history of the 'Rocky' franchise that it brings with it into the theater, giving it the advantage of a built-in emotional gut punch. That head-start allows the filmmakers to fully develop their new characters so that the film stands on its own two feet and delivers on every level.
