Stunned that this movie got 94% positive reviews. Take the original Rocky movie, put it in a deep freezer for 40 years, and then pull it out with freezer burns and all. Pop it in the microwave and presto - you have Creed.
Stallone's 'nostalgic' performance kept it just above the 'let's punt and find another movie so we don't waste the entire evening' threshold but it was touch and go in a couple stretches.
Would have been a better use of the first 45 minutes of Saturday night to rummage through the bowels of my basement to find the original and plugging it into my dusty old VCR player to watch a true classic.
