Review of Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954) by Tristan D — 19 Jul 2009
An excellent blend of 50's sci-fi and classic Universal Studios horror. The story of the Gill-Man is summed up best in the scene where he swims beneath Kay, mirroring her movements. It is at once haunting yet entirely beautiful.
The underwater photography and music are great and Nestor Paiva steals the show as Lucas. Check out the original 3D version if you ever get a chance.
