Was very excited to go see this movie. But . . . meh. It felt like a lot of fluff and spectacle, at the expense of character development. Sort of left me hollow. The leads were cute but their romance felt contrived and I didn't really care whether they got married or not (I'd happily marry Henry Golding, though :-)).
Many characters felt more like caricatures. The dialogue was downright wooden in parts. I enjoyed the homage to Asian culture.
