Review of Crazy Heart (2009) by Blæke W — 15 Dec 2010
Crazy Heart.
Directed by: Harriet Walter.
Release Date: December 16 2009.
Pituresque, with dark sombre light this country music film injects a feeling of constant warmth to a handsome character played by a very household familiar actor in Jeff Bridges. Again as not disimilar to 'the guitar '-(Saffron Burrows) a character drama centralizing on the one human focal point. Bad Blake is a people person but portrayed here as such though so individually unique, battling the country music sceen roots on live circut inviting one hell of a part played by Jeff Bridges. A georgous, down to earth Maggie Gyllenhaal is both captivating and utterly tantalizing in a simplistic way. It is a love story a bit I guess, as messed up as love can be these days but primarily is a live music/makin a musical, rock style juxta/biograph. I thought as glossi as a promo package but as heart felt and sad as life can be sometimes on the road/road to success. Anyway, top marks awesome feature.
