Review of Crazy Heart (2009) by Tom M — 11 Apr 2011

"Crazy Heart" features a pretty linear story arc of redemption coming with a price for a drunk ol' country music star who finally has the motivation to clean up and get back to what he does best.

Set among some fantastic open-sky vistas for the cinematography, the story is good, but the cast is great. Jeff Bridge's "Bad Blake" character is fully realized and certainly Oscar-worthy, but what makes it all work is the authentic singing, playing and great songs in the movie.
