As a Jeff Bridges fan I was expecting great things and he is excellent as ever. If only the story wasn't so conventional and formulaic. An old has-been country singer down on his luck finds new life and love.
You know the story. Colin Farrell and Maggie Gyllenhaal provide good support and the concert scenes are great but doesn't make up for the fact you've seen it a thousand times.
