Review of Crazy Heart (2009) by Nadim K — 11 Oct 2011

Crazy Heart is one of those films that's pretty generic, but built around a great performance that enhances the generic material. It's not cinema's finest moment, but it does have a few really great moments.

I thought the music fit perfectly with the film and the overall character study of Bad Blake was compelling to me. It may used way too many familiar tropes but Jeff Bridges's performance absolutely blew me away.

His performance is dynamite in every detail. I liked this film not because it was a great script or particularly well shot. Jeff Bridges was just that good.
