Review of Crazy Heart (2009) by Andrew S — 12 Feb 2012
One of the more underrated films I have seen in a few years. The casting was very good and everyone played their roles extremely well. Jeff Bridges finally won the acclaim he deserved a long time ago by winning the Best Actor award for his role as Otis "Bad" Blake.
I always believe playing an alcoholic could go either way, meaning it is going to be absolutely great or absolutely horrible due to overacting. Bridges did it extremely well and his mannerisms and attitude definitely fit a life-long alcoholic.
The music and the lyrics were pretty good too. My only quibble with this film is that Robert Duvall should have been given a larger role but that still does not take away from film whatsoever.
