Review of Crazy Heart (2009) by Jesse B — 31 Mar 2012

Wow, I just loved this (which is surprising, given my general distaste for biopics). I think I enjoyed it so much because the screenplay resists melodrama and instead tells a straightforward story simply and with perfect timing.

Combine that with stellar performances from Bridges, Gyllenhal, and Duval, and you've got yourself one terrific movie.
