120713: A positive ending cannot make up for an hour and a half of human self abuse. This movie is slow and all your time is spent in the company of a chain smoking alcoholic who really doesn't have much of a life.
Perhaps I've lost my heart but I just had no interest. I'll have to go back and determine what the difference is between this film and Barfly, which I bought because I loved it so much (years ago).
