A solid effort, but it felt like a tamed down "Tender Mercies" - in which Robert Duvall gave a better performance than Bridges . Bridges was pretty good, though, maybe it's an unfair comparison since Bridges' character isn't dealing with the deep alcoholic-fueled rage that Duvall's character in Tender Mercies was dealing with, just the alcoholism.

There are a few quiet moments that ring true in the movie. Maggie G gave a great performance; you can tell how just one of her looks can make Jeff Bridges want to better himself for her.
