Review of Crazy/Beautiful (2001) by Ronnie H — 04 Nov 2009
The name of the film is ?Crazy Beautiful?. The main characters in the movie are Nicole Oakley, Carlos Nunez, and Tom Oakley. The movie took place in two locations which were the high school and Nicole Oakley?s home. Other scenes were just for entertainment. This type of film would be considered and romance and comedy.
This film is about two lovers Nicole Oakley and Carlos Nunez who wanted to be together but their parents didn?t approve of it. Nicole Oakley?s dad which was Tom Oakley was a congress man. Carlos had no idea that Nicole lost her mother, but he had another thing coming. The good thing is that they put aside their difference just to continue to see each other. Nicole was also a child who didn?t like to show people her wealthy side. So instead she showed people a side of her that wasn?t her just so that she can fit in.
The directors of the movie had a good music selection. I state that due to the fact that it showed how the character was really feeling. For example, if the character was sad you wont catch them playing any hip-hop music they will play some type of music showing some type of sorrow. Another thing is that the music was right on queue. If the person is crying they play sad music when a person was to fight they would play some type of crazy music.
Another aspect is the acting. To me the acting was great. Actors showed weather they were happy, mad, or sad. Actors never left the audience bored or not entertained. They knew when to bring the noise down and they knew when to bring it down. With the characters Nicole and Carlos together they never left the audience disinterested or confused. The two knew when they had to come back in the movie to make it exciting to make the viewers interested again.
Overall the movie was very eye catching. To anybody who is seeing it for the first time it?s really good. When I first heard that I was watching it in my classroom I thought that it was going to be very boring. But come to find out I was wrong it was very exciting and interesting. This film deserves two thumbs up. It tells you no matter how someone tries to take you from your true love it will work out at the end. You also shouldn?t let no one tell you who to talk to and who you love.
