Review of Crazy (2000) by Edwin B — 31 Aug 2007
Astonishingly deep characters, a bitchin' soundtrack, and an at-times quirky sense of boundless, impressive style makes this one of the best impulse rentals I've done in a while. Plus, let's see YOU try to make a film dealing with suppressed homosexuality and a strained father-son relationship spanning three+ decades without making it come across as overly sentimental, preachy, or both.
If not for a brief, pointless epilogue that I thought felt tacked-on in light of everything that preceded it, this would be a more or less flawless film in my eyes.
