Review of Crazy (2000) by Sarah-Tess Leizel B — 03 Mar 2008
Quebecois director Jean-Marc Vallee offers up a magnificent little example of Canadian cinema. A very personal family drama which deals primarily with the dynamic of Zack and his family and his experimentation with homosexuality and an unaccepting father.
The film spans the course of Zach's life through the 70s and 80s and is entirely engaging through the decades. With it's great soundtrack, terrific cast, a youthful exuberance of imagination and humor C.
R.A.Z.Y is one of the finest Canadian releases in some time and inarguably essential viewing.
