Review of Crazy (2000) by Sébastian H — 30 Mar 2008
I love this movie. A lot. It was funny, endearing, moving, interesting, had a great story, plot, characters and ending. Basically the whole package. I really have nothing bad to say about it. I loved all the characters and their stories and I was really drawn into Zac's story especially. The script was absolutely well written and such a great look at adolescence and, families, sexual awakening, the role of your parents and other topics around growing up. Iffy subjects were handled with seriousness yet humour at the same time, which I absolutely loved. In fact the whole entire family was so well written and portrayed that at times I felt I was part of them and was feeling with them at good and bad times. But a well-written character isn't everything of course. Every single person in this movie was absolutely shining in their parts. My favourite performances were by the Dad(Michel Cote) and Zac when he was little (Emile Vallee) and then also when he was grown up. Really though everyone was brilliant. The movie also had a great soundtrack with some nice Bowie and other 60s staples. The humour in this movie was also amazing, I laughed out loud at so many parts.
Long story short: Great movie, I highly recommend it.
