Review of Crank: High Voltage (2009) by Maksim B — 10 Mar 2011
In fact I doubt that anyone has had high expectations about this movie, having seen the first installment. However this beats up the first one, when it comes to crazy and impossible stunts and of course when it comes to the actual capabilities of the human body.
It's a high octane action, without much sense in it, with lots of fun and of course a cult scene between Statham and Smart during the horse race.
This movie will not have the legs of the first one, but the more important thing is that Jason Statham has had another strong performance. Given the presumably low budget of the movie it will not have any problems showing a profit in the beginning of its domestic run, which will constitute Jason Statham as a "cash-bringing-actor" even if the movie is a senseless action flick like this one.
