Review of Crank: High Voltage (2009) by Steven B — 12 Jun 2010
Wow, what an odd film. I can honestly say I have never seen a movie as crazy and unrealistic as this one. But the saving grace is that the filmmakers KNOW this, they understand what kind of film they are making and dont steer away from that.
There were so many scenes in this movie that were cringeworthy, but in a good way. Jason Statham does a good job, and Amy Smart is convincing as well. Mainly though, this movie will keep you interested until Id say the last scene.
I felt like at the end, I was a little exhausted and wanted it to end already (wait until you see the villians plot twist at the end, hilariously unrealistic) but up until then I was always either grinning, laughing, oooing and ahhing, or cringing, which is exactly what this film wants to do.
