Review of Crank: High Voltage (2009) by Cale H — 06 Feb 2011
-This movie takes ridiculous to the next level. If anything can ever top the ridiculousness of this movie, my head might explode.
-I love Jason Statham, but he didn't do it for me in this one. He seemed like he didn't even want to be there.
-Interesting, unique direction with a lot of cuts that seemed pretty effed up. Good editing.
-Seemed over-the-top for the sake of being as over-the-top as possible, having meaningless scenes or painfully drawn-out scenes (horse-track banging?) just to be ridiculous.
-I don't ever want to watch this again.
(After this I watched the NC-17 Natural Born Killers and found Crank even more disturbing, wondering how it DIDN'T get it something like that. Then I realized our society is fucked.).
