Review of Crank (2006) by M W — 19 Jan 2013

I definitely liked part 2 better but it's only good because it's a more extreme version of an already good formula. Crank is a really good example of how to do an exploitation movie right. If you know going into it that it's not a serious drama or even action movie, you can really enjoy the sex, violence, and humor.

The movie is more of a creative exercise in story writing and in really cool camera work than in actually trying to convey emotion or create strong characters. It's sort of like a comic book with punk rock.

And I really enjoy Jason Statham movies for some reason.
