Review of Cradle 2 the Grave (2003) by Jason J — 28 Jun 2011
This is a pretty decent action picture starring Jet Li as a Taiwanese intelligence agent out to recover some "black diamonds" stolen by DMX's gang of jewel thieves. The plot isn't much and the story is marred by too much father/daughter stuff between DMX and his kid, but that's not the point in movies like this. It's the action and the thrills, and this movie has them.
The fight scenes are very good, particularly when Jet Li takes on a ring full of goons at a fight club. And there's a good chase scene with DMX on an all-terrain vehicle. The ending is rather lame when the thieves all decide to reform once they've recovered the diamonds from the bad guys, but it's an enjoyable ride nonetheless. Nothing heavy, just fun to watch.
