Review of Cracks (2009) by Cerise Y — 10 Apr 2010
Reminded me alot of Innocence (also based on a novel) by French director Lucile Hadzihalilovic.
Incredibly depressing. Complicated characters and in a limited set, developed a rich story and it kept me thinking. Eva Green again gave a fantastic performance playing someone coo-coo. But seriously, it was a complicated character and she manages to emphasize on her role's importance without taking over the observers' role. Beautiful music written by Pan's Labyrinth's Javier Navarrete. I hope to see more from Jordan Scott!
