Review of Cracks (2009) by John M — 24 Aug 2011
A familar story, but told very very well. Jordan Scott, daughter of Ridley, uses elegant photography, deft story pacing, and a well-directed cast to hook us in to a story we already guess the ending to.
the acting is the draw here. Eva Green give an extremely rich performance, her best ever, that gets more and more interesting as the story peels back more layers to her. and Juno Temple gives a carreer best performance in a role i'd have never considered her type, but it's filled with honest and detailed work.
and Imogen Poots is still hot.
