Excellent period drama by Jordan Scott (daughter of Ridley Scott). The story centres around a group of best friends at a 1930s girls boarding school, and how their lives are thrown upside down by the arrival of a new Spanish Student.

Eva Green is fantastic as the girls troubled teacher Miss G. It is this character that is at the film's core, the character that is constantly pushes the narrative further and further. Miss G is an extremely interesting and complex woman which I felt completely connected to, she is played so precisely by Eva Green that she is a great presence when on screen and is hard for one to decide whether she is a detestible or a sypathetic character.

Jordan Scott shows off that she also has her father's eye for constructing beatiful scenes, some of the most memorable shots for me would be when the girls are diving into the lake, Jordan manages to make the sequence magical and strangely surreal at the same time.

This is a very promising debut film for an obviously talented filmmaker as well as a stage for Eva Green to prove that she is one of the best actresses of her generation.
