Review of Cowboys & Aliens (2011) by Alan Fong D — 23 Aug 2012
If an original idea is the last thing Hollywood ever sought for, then they might have got it right by blending in aliens with cowboys. To be honest, sitting through nearly two hours of spaghetti Western is not easy.
As the story crept through unveiling the mysterious past of the protagonist one minute at a time, the action sequences were scarce and have so much potential in expanding its scope and vision. Craig exudes Western charm with his ala Indiana Jones style, Harrison Ford, the real Indiana Jones, has played up his role far too grumpy and at time annoying.
While the concept is fresh and loaded with plentiful of promising story essence, the lengthy timing comes as a factor weakening the ruggedness and toughness of this Western sci-fi.
