Review of Court (2015) by Stefano C — 18 Apr 2018
I adored the camera work here. The shots that linger past the exit of the characters and start too early before the entry of the characters is a maddening concept. It is implemented with such gall. Coupled with that, there is barely any movement of camera.
With such simplicity, the camera takes precedence and creates self awareness in the audience. The introduction, development, hopelessness and realism of each character is fantastic. There is no background score whatsoever and it is not missed.
It makes the movie relatable and real. It gives the audience a true voyeuristic experience. This is a seriously good Maratha film and fully deserving of all accolades received.
